Frontier's paying passengers up 1% in July
Reported a 1 percent increase in paying passenger traffic in July on a 2 percent increase in headcount, the Denver- and Milwaukee-hubbed carrier reports.The airline's revenue passenger miles — the number of paying passengers times miles flown — rose to 1.27 billion, the airline reported. It carried 1,488,581 passengers in July. Frontier is the No. 2 carrier at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee.
The July increase followed a 1 percent year-over-year passenger decline in June, but otherwise Frontier has had several recent year-over-year monthly passenger increases.
Frontier’s capacity — a measure of the seats available to carry passengers, expressed as available seat miles — was flat in July from at 1.38 billion. Its load factor — the percentage of its capacity actually used by passengers — rose by 1 percentage point from a year earlier, to 92 percent.
